Summary of the Optical Filters Project

This project recovers waste water from a glass processing line, removes glass grinding debris using cyclonic flow & centrifuging and then cycles the recovered water through heat exchangers to warm the water used in the glass processing line.

The heat is recovered from the hot waste cooling water from a glass laminating autoclave thus allowing another recycling process of cooling water from the autoclave.

The environmental impacts of this project are:-

  • Minimizing the usage of water
  • Recycling of water for two processes
  • Recovery and transfer of heat from one process to another

The project was conceived, designed and commissioned by
Optical Filters technical and engineering team in Meadville, Pa.
